Hi all, I've been busily lurking for a couple of days reading the various reports and looking at some great pics and thought it was time to sign up and actually participate.

I'm not a dedicated mine explorer or caver, I do alot of Urban Exploration, please don't pelt me with rotten fruit, we're not all loonies honest. I have 2 great loves in my UrbEx life and those are abandoned mental asylums and 'anything' underground, I absolutely love being underground and seeing what few people get to see, exploring and find new places, artifacts, machinery, etc., absolutely love it, I have loads of pics underground and have got 'reasonably' ok at light painting, massive spaces like the Cathedral at Box though still give me problems.

Alot of what I've done have been chalk tunnels/underground bunkers/military stuff because of where I live we are just smothered in underground chalk stuff, there are only a few mines in the area and they've all been capped off tight from what I've been able to uncover I have done a bit of underground stuff in Wiltshire so far and had a great couple of days doing, Box, Browns & Swan (have signed the guestbook at Swans).

I've travelled all over the UK for the asylums and it's time to get more underground stuff done so I'm hoping to get a bit of experience in mine exploration under my belt and hopefully have some more great adventures underground.

Well that'll do for waffle, don't want to bore you all to tears, maybe I'll get to meet some of you in the not too distant future if you don't mind a relative newb from up top tagging along?

Right off to do some reading of this excellent site.

Cheers all

Note to self, NEVER EVER mention UrbEx on a forum unless it's an UrbEx forum.... Oooops.

Ah well seems I joined when the forum is actually winding down by the looks of things, hope there are some still out there exploring and it's not all lamp construction these days? (Not that there's anything wrong with the awesome lamps some of you guys have produced/are still producing of course).

Has the main site moved again???

Hi Jake of Winter Hill looks like you've had quite a few great explores wee man Good for you, beats the hell out of collecting stamps

Long may you and Dad go adventuring together, in fact I can't think of a better father & son pastime tbh. You're an inspiration Jake, good on ya. Don't forget to take good care of Dad.

If you ever venture out this way I'll be more than happy to show you and Dad around lots of chalky underground stuff we have around here.

Hi,
I have recently moved back to Ramsgate, an area where I did lots of exploring the wartime tunnel network when I was a lot younger. I am now interested in the chalk mines of Ramsgate. Some call them the 6 mile mine, and I believe they were created in mid to late1800's. Have you been in these?

Its ZZZZZZZZ because we're all busy out exploring!!

Anyhoo, welcome n00b - we're not all urbex00r bashers, some of us may even be C***rs (I happen to be a mine explorer who happens to live in C***ing country) - I have family in North Kent, there are some places I wouldn't mind visiting when I find time to get over your way!
