Aberllenfenni Joel Grochan sealed

The word on social media is that one of the entrances has been sealed. Not surprised given the attention the place has garnered from social media.

The word on social media is correct then. The entrance that had in recent years been re-opened by visitors has had rock dragged over it again. It had almost become a walk in again over the past six months. Other work to discourage trespassers has also been carried out.

Do we know if this is the level 7 adit thats been resealed? Honestly probably isn't a bad thing ** redacted by mods**, think the place really needs a barrier to entry, given how easy it became to stumble in

Perhaps we're numbering the adits differently, I was going off this

[Image reason="removed and replaced by list to try to maintain context"]
Level 1 adit
Level 2 adit
Level 3 adit
Level 4
Level 5
Level 6
Level 7 gated entrance

But I'd guess we're talking about the same adit, since from my knowledge level 6 hasn't gone anywhere since the 1900s!!
Tbf ** redacted by mods** I don't think its end of the world and given how much the place (and wrysgan) have been blowing up recently, should help keep the inside unvandalized atleast

pretty sure goonage like this didnt help, but I agree its prob for the best if its only accessible with a decent bit of SRT
as I believe we discussed one of the tubs got pushed into one of the lakes over the last year too which was disgraceful!

Who ever did that wants to be tied to it .

I do think @Stones he is a professional rescuer? This means he has block and tackles ? would be good to see how clever he is at angles ? Could go magnet fishing !

Lots has been damaged there, over the years. The rack from the stitch drill, that used to be in the eastern workings, got pushed into a hole sometime after covid lockdown. The swimming in the Facebook video is more sedate than this one: Perhaps it would be better if people stayed outside and went for a bicycle ride?

It is level 7 that's been sealed. Saw it today. At first I thought it was just spoil collapse but reading this perhaps it was engineered. Glad I was able to explore the place last year.

I see another very sensitive mine site has been appearing elsewhere on a mainstream UK caving/mine exploring forum, despite, as far as I am aware, those consenting to take people in insisting on NO PUBLICITY! I don't understand the reasoning of disregarding a condition of access - all it serves the poster is to flag up to people "Hey look I have been in this sensitive place look at me". It shows a total lack of respect to those who went out of their way to take someone in, risks upsetting the owner etc with the attendant risk of a total ban on visits. No names here, no sites named here - no point in giving any more publicity, but the principle is so important it just needs someone to say something.
