Arsiccio mine, Tuscany, Italy

An iron mine that worked a baryte-iron oxide-pyrite deposit. I have a feeling that it shut relatively recently - 20 or 30 years ago. Loads more to find in there, I just used up my bravery portion for the day.

I liked this bit. Nicely propped up.

This is the bit that you go through and touch absolutely nothing.

This is the top adit. No clear stopes, but lots of pretty passage and wonderful iron straws.

My mate the miner. when I came out I saw him at the entrance and thought I could be in trouble. But he used to work in there and was delighted that someone was appreciating his mine!

I missed this thread when I posted my post, I am sorry if I created a new one about the same mine, not sure what the 'rules' are?

Anyway @petemonkhouse amazing explore, absolutely love your photos and how cool is that you meet someone who actually worked there!!
And you saw some really cool stuff I haven't seen, I've been exploring for two days, and still missed a lot apperantly.
