Lighting fires underground can cause roof fall due to rising heat. There was a death some years back in a sandstone cave at Bridgenorth.

Sadly as of Last week it has been closed up, in somewhat of a weird way however. Gate has no lock and is just installed in a way that stops it opening entirely, in the area for work this week so will update if the ladder shaft is accessible or not

Went back past yesterday, sadly ladder shaft is also closed up.
Bit of a shame but given the trouble this place has caused the neibours I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner!

so only slim people can now enter?
Or those with a 13mm spanner!! given I don’t think it was done by the land owner, I’m pretty tempted to go down, wiggle the gate so it opens and just put a padlock on with the combination set to the year of closure or opening.
Would stop the yobs setting it on fire again, but anyone with a few brain cells would still be able to have a little wonder about

tbh anyone who wants to get in will just climb it, look at Farleigh tunnel, they spent a fortune on pallisade which kept people out for at least 10 min lol
