Early May Bank Holiday - What have you been up to?

We went for a bit of a trip yesterday up past Cwmorthin.

Walked up to Rhosydd, through 9 adit and up out the twll. We then walked past Moelwyn slate mine (having a quick look inside) up the Craigysgafn ridge, over and down Moelwyn Mawr and dropped trough Wysgan back to the car.

Took some going to find a way out of the twll.
Hi Alex.
A pointer for exiting the Twll...
Climb out towards daylight hugging the left hand side of the first chamber to break into the Twll (closest to the incline). As you exit into the open pit you will see a grassy knoll way up on the left hand side. Head for the knoll, hugging the left hand side and climbing out of the rubble and onto the grassy side.
You will reach the base of the knoll where you will follow around anticlockwise so you are close to the edge of the drop to the tip below, gaining height all the time.
As you get towards the back of that knoll, you will find a very easy route, almost with steps, that lead you to the top of the knoll and then easily to the ridge above.
It looks awful from below, but the route appears as you go and is no where near as bad as you think.
This is, BY FAR, the easiest and safest route out of, or into, the Twll. šŸ˜šŸ‘
