- iirc worked by The London Lead Company in mid-late 1700s.

The 1999 Plan also shows 'Samuel Vein', though I haven't been able to find any reference to related workings.
It's not Bondog Hole, that's a bit further to the east. The 1999 plan is wrong in naming it Samuel Vein, the vein those old workings are on is named as Quarry Vein on the Barmaster's map and as well as the workings on the old mans level, the vein is exposed in the cutting leading to the Hopton Wood entrance to Middleton Mine - the level runs underneath the cutting.

Do you lads want a new entry for this shaft on our map ?

Can we see this shaft on Google maps ? Google earth ? It looks large ? We could create a custom entry details from the Knowledge you have

I'm thinking this over and probably we need two entries, since there's a further point of interest on the vein to the east, namely the coe with a knockstone mentioned in the Lead Legacy. If you want to create an entry for the shaft go for it, I'll sort something out for the coe when I've got the grid ref for it.

Regarding the old man's level shown in Roy's photos, I've had some discussion with Lampwick and he shared a line survey Antonio L did, which suggests the level is part of Welshman's Venture Mine. I've created a rough entry for that one which I'll refine later.
