Merthyr Tydfil - UK's longest ski slope gets go ahead

The Rhydycar West development, on land to the south west of the A470/A4102 roundabout in Merthyr Tydfil, includes an indoor ski slope, water park, indoor activity centre, outdoor activity centre, up to 418 bedrooms of hotel accommodation, up to 30 units of woodland lodge accommodation and up to 830 car parking spaces.

 
As we all know adits are the perfect home for bats, if they found an adit on site with bats, would all construction come to a stop ?
It probably depends on the species of bat.

They can get a protected species mitigation license if the public interest is deemed to override the impact.

I expect they'd dream up some kind of questionably effective offsetting scheme, then go ahead and do exactly what they were going to do anyway!
