Due to recent events, we would like to make it clear that Milldam is not accessible via the main portal nor via any associated entry points. There are unfounded rumours being circulated by an individual on social media that access is possible via the side compound entrance; this is not the case. Not only is this access point highly secured with multiple doors and locks, to gain access to this locked entrance would involve criminal damage/breaking and entering (alongside the obvious trespass aspect).
We are unable to control misinformation outside of this forum, and have been disappointed to hear about the damage done to the site stemming from similar misinformation/disregard for private property. We have been in close contact with both the owner and the keeper of the mine, and would like to make it clear that the police are involved and will be informed of any further unauthorised activity at this location.
