Old pics of Mining around Eyam

Tracked down another photo from Glebe, this one in Barbara Braithwaite's papers donated to PDMHS it is captioned "Claiming of the mine, Braithwaite left with hat and John Mort in front" - can anyone positively ID the others?

I'm pretty sure that photo is actually of John Mort and two Barmote jurymen laying out the route of the mine road to Portaway Mine at Winster for Eric Fisher after the landowner refused access - the mining laws state that in such cases, the Barmaster walks the intended route with two jurymen alongside him with arms outstretched as shown to demarcate the route to the nearest highway for the miner's use.

Very helpful, thank you. Braithwaite was a serving juryman so that makes sense. Also, Barbara's recollections are a little hazy here and there so happy to have the correct information!

There was a bit in a PDMHS newsletter several years ago about the 1948 Portaway access dispute, which included a photo which may well have been this one. I'll see if I can find it, as I do recall it named all the people in the photo.

That might be New Engine Mine? The date is about right for the pumping engine being in operation there.
