Emergency Lake District road closure in place because of 'danger to the public'
An emergency road closure near Coniston on Tilberthwaite Road (C5001) is now in place for up to 21 days, according to council documents.

A stretch of Tilberthwaite Road (C5001) is now closed from its junction with the A593 for approximately 885 metres north-westward.
Westmorland and Furness Council’s road closure notice said the road can be closed for up to 21 days from yesterday (March 9).
However, it is understood that the road will only need to be shut for five days – meaning that it will reopen after March 13.
