As per Bedford United (Marquis Engine Workings) this mine is on private ground. The landowner will take a dim view of anyone just swanning in there. I would suggest contacting either DMC or PGC regarding access. On this note, you are dealing with 100M of tunnel which is about balls deep leading to a scree and then some stopes which are too dangerous to go in.

I had looked at this mine and was advised that "there was lots of stuff hung up" and it was very unwise to do so. So, I set about looking in the adit until the danger was obvious and to by no means attempt to go further AT ALL. This was wise advise and even though the timbers are all present and correct, they are completely rotten and the small planking is ready to burst, it's basically just sat there waiting to come down, if you go over it, it will come down, if you go under it, you are on a rotten false floor. By no means attempt to go in under any timber.
