The mine buildings and the smelt mill chimney, have all been preserved by the Earby Mines Research Group and the Crosshills Naturalist's Society. The site is also looked after by the Friends of Cononley Mine. Detailed information on the site is available in te NMRS British Mining No 33. There is no underground access due to the many of the levels are driven in shale and are in a poor state, also due to the wishes of the Land and Mineral owner
