Rigging in Croesor and rubbish
I have been emailed by the chap who's installed all the metal work in Croesor, nice to put a name to the work. Well done Paul Fessi!
He says:
For the record we called the zip wire in Croesor Rhosydd mine 'Bethan's Zip' after my daughter, a good old welsh name. With a steel tandem pulley its a flyer ! ! !
For the history books the Zip wire and suspension bridge was installed in Jan of 2005 and the other rigging was installed to make things a little safer the other zip wire across free handing bridge was installed 12 years ago and because i visit the mine regularly remains in good nick.
The intention of the suspension bridge was to create a little bit of tension by deliberately making touch the water and rigged quite loosely. For the history books we called it Fessi's Indiana Bridge.
My close friend and I wanted to give the fantastic adventure a few more surprises without taking away the challenging aspect of the trip.
Just one thing I would like to add, I normally like tokeep silent about my adventures but the exit from the mine where you cross the main pond and pull up into the chamber where the tight squeeze is located gets a lots of rubbish left. I cleaned the place up once. Just appealing to all to respect this place and take their rubbish home.
Miles's comment: I suspect the rubish build up is because there is supposed to be a shrine at that point. It's probably best not to leave rubbish there as he says and keep it all original
