Sharkham Mine The west lode underlies the east lode at a dip of 1 in 6 and is a poor yielding lode The east lode underlies the west lode at a dip of1in 2 and is a promising load The Adit on the west load extends 30 Fathoms (1 Fathom equals 6 feet) The Adit on the East lode extends 60 fathoms and is 5 fathoms wide From the face of the cliff a winze shaft extends for 8 fathoms, haulage extends for a distance of 20 Fathoms from the bottom of the shaft. Local 300-400 ton barges shipped the ore from the rocks used as loading bays.
