Warning: Mine exploring is potentially very dangerous, especially for the inexperienced. You are responsible for your own actions at all times, and by browsing this site you indicate you have read and fully accept the terms of the disclaimer statement.
The mine comprises of one drift and one shaft that meets or crosses many of the older coal seams including that of the 'R1' and runs above the 'Peacock' workings of the late 1800's. When I get chance I will copy the complete map that we have aquired that shows both the drifts and the older workings of older and newer times.

The colliery is both run and managed by most of the work force, and as such - everyone is rightly proud of their achivement and business. All of the site security will be more than pleased to allow you to take a look at their mine site as long as you ask first. (they are very proud to still be operating!) We were fortunate to be allowed underground as my family used to work the same seam as the colliers are currently mining. (photos soon)
