Whats what

The pumping engine house is West Wheal Owles, an underground continuation of this shaft, on the incline west at 25% was known as the Cargodna Incline Shaft as it was Cargodna Lode that it was sunk to reach (ref Cyril Knowles). Next engine house west is Edward stamps. Futher west in square granite collar is Cargodna Shaft slightly down the cliff, this can be reached by the Cargodna Adit, rope/ ladder needed for final 12 feet. The foundations above are all thats left of the winding house, this shaft being fitted with a skipway. Sadly, no known photographs. Further west is Wheal Edward incline shaft, surrounded by a recent "Cornish Wall" and blocked a short way down. Far west above the cove is Wheal Edward shaft, circular "Cornish Wall" collar. The upper adit reached by circular path is open at 2007, deep adit blocked by rock and maritime debris. Most of the Wheal Edward cliff workings are explorable, but keep visit short due to high radon.
