This adit is really a swine to get into and it is easy to be caught out by inclement weather conditions. Only attempt it at low tide and when there is little wind, preferably off shore. The reason is that the way across the cove via the tops of protruding boulders is easily lost if the wind picks up causing a half metre or so swell to occur. The large rock in the centre of the cove makes the situation worse, as it funnels the tide either side of it making the waves increase in velocity and strength.
