I went here just today and found an intresting spot! hodge Close is of cource shown by the provided gridref and can be accessed by a narrow road leading of the main Coniston to Ambleside road. Just before you reach the quarry there is a section of road sloping downhill,'about 20 m before the hunction to Peat Field quarry. On your right you should see a ditch overgrown with trees and brambles. At the head of the ditch there is a low adit; don't worry, it widens out inside. inside the adit there is a comlete rail track running it's entire length; on its way it runs through two close-heads the latter containing a aerial crane. The ditch in which the level is situated is fenced of, prabably because of the artifacts inside:- so don't even think about stealing any!

Parrock Incline
The transporter wagon in the images below was the transporter from the Parrock Incline. The Parrock incline raised the slate from the nearby Hodge close quarry via a hole in the rockface between the two pits. previously slate was raised by a blondin ropeway system.
