my husband,soon to be 60,worked for couple of years in his early twenties down wheel jayne,and i would love to take him back for a visit.doesnt look like tours are available so does anyone know if the south crofty tours are still available and being a mining novice dont know if the two mines are similar in any way. hope someone has any info,thankyou

Most of the still accessable bits of (old) Wheal Jane were in fact a copper mine.

the last of the mill building was demolished on friday the last bit came down at about 6 oclock that night. more cornish history gone forever

there is a shaft at sw784435 in some trees down a lane ,it is about a 150 foot absail this takes you into old wheal jane some of the shaft is stoped out so you will have a free hang !!. this is also the only way out!
