Huntcliffe Ironstone Mine: Drift Entrances (Public)
As the unloading ramp was on the seaward side of the railway the drifts had to cross underneath to exploit the seam. To the right was the pit yard with stables, workshops and a couple of cottages. The last remnants of these were demolished by the landowner in the 1980's and not eroded by the receding cliff edge (public information notices are usually wrong!).
