Huntcliffe Ironstone Mine: Information Board (Public)

This map is misleading - the area coloured pink is a total invention. Ignore it and you can see that the workshops and cottage site has not yet fallen over the cliff - they were deliberately demolished in the 1980s. The sand coloured line marks the top of the cliff; the route of the Cleveland Way as shown is also wrong. This uncredited illustration has been copied from one of my books and badly at that!
