After pushing through a fall, one of our team members found a number of old bits and bobs. This is a pipe, as in the type you put tobacco in and smoke. It is decorated like a fish.
It's rightful owner probably died over 100 years ago, no doubt he lost it during his shift down here. I think the mouthpiece is supposed to be a bit longer, maybe it broke, or was made of timber and has rotted to oblivion.
I think it has been carved by hand, which must have taken quite a while. Hard to date, but these chambers havn't been worked since the late 1800's.
