Cwmorthin Slate Quarry: Trucks on E (Public)

A slab truck and a waste truck, by my reckoning. The axles have probably rusted up...

There's a great big tee piece in this picture that could be turned into a venturi thingy

Removing, changing or damaging any artifact like this would be vandalisem. The result of damaging an in situ artifact like this for som project would be worse than your worse dream! Read the NAMHO guidelines. You should ask for forgivness just for thinking the idea.

Chill Rufenig. You are right of course - but the final go-head for building a Venturi would come from a FOC vote. It would be ideal to use a big t-piece just like that one, but not that actual one. We'd use a similar one bought from a scrappy or something.

I was going to use the pipes and the tee piece. Cwmorthin is a bit different to other abandoned mines, People do lots of work in there even fitting lights and ladders. there are plenty of pictures of this pump so theres no danger of anybody wondering what it did. If the FOC are ok with it it's down with the spanners .......

If a tee can be found it would be better and easier than using this one...However there is still the problem of the pipework..

Ultimately the final say would come from the FOC as a whole but my feeling is to leave everything in that picture, in fact as much as possible as-is. I wouldn't want to see that big air main cut up to reuse the T piece, especially when we can get one from somewhere else. Reusing the present B-E water pipe, bring it back into use for it's original purpose, is perfectly acceptable in my eyes.
